New Thought Organizations

There are lots of New Thought Organizations.

There are study groups, centers, communities, fellowships, even denominations.

The organizations listed on this page are either membership organizations that serve the interests of their members and have various missions in addition to these interests or they are service organizations that support New Thought in various ways.

In recent literature issued by some individuals attached to certain U.S. organizations, there was an attempt to christianize New Thought and place it under the "global leadership" of one of their organizations.

Don't believe any such nonsense.

Seicho No Ie and other international New Thought paths are not branches of Christianity and are most certainly not under the guidance of any particular organization other than their own. While Christianity is an important part of New Thought, it is not the "tap root" of all organizations within the movement.

Some New Thought teachers, writers and branches are indeed Christian based and these are commonly called Christian New Thought. There is also a track of New Thought that is rooted in the Tanakh & Talmud. This is traditionally called Jewish Science. Collectively these paths are called Bible New Thought. The other two branches of the Abrahamic traditions: Mormanism and Mohammedanism / Islam, may one day produce their own expressions within the overall category of Abrahamic New Thought.

Early 21st Century New Thought is filled with people teaching various forms of Shamanism.

These range from deep mystical practices and advanced scientific concepts rooted in the teachings of the Finnish Sami people, through the Tuatha Dé tradition of Celtic shamanism, all the way to the Himalayan traditions and everything in between. From the beginning, through today and into the future, New Thought is a spiritual path with a multitude of independent centers, writers, teachers and groups, held together by the simple common concept that 'as we change our thinking we change our lives.' For New Thought to remain "new" it must be continually refreshed and renewed and it is. New Thought is a "spiral dynamic" in action.

Of course there will always be old people who will lament that certain of their thought forms may no longer be in vogue. But the key factor is the training of people to use their minds to think clearly and effectively and thereby to understand the context of what their desires are manifesting with respect to their impact on the lives of others. In short, for New Thought to be relevant in the New Millennium, we must each factor in "highest good" such that New Thought isn't simply another term for "no thought" or thoughtlessness.

Perhaps as some people feel, New Thought is a vehicle for interfaith dialogue, but more likely interfaith dialogue is a vehicle for humanity to ascend to a higher consciousness and New Thought is the philosophy, spiritual path and religion which epitomizes higher thought. This is because New Thought embraces a spectrum of belief within itself that transcends other spiritual paths which often appear to be typified by the veneration of old thought patterns that diminish Divine Potential in favor of the preservation of old patterns such as the concentration of profit in opposition to truth prosperity.

In truth, the very phrase New Thought is composed of two words which preclude a narrow minded conservative conception. Those seeking to justify abuse through blaming the individual for personal manifestation of assault, rape or murder simply demonstrate their lack of spiritual insight. Those who would simply teach a weak philosophy of selfish materialism under the guise of Prosperity Consciousness find themselves bankrupt of higher truth.

No adequate rationale will be found to deny human rights to anyone and those who would glibly spout the mantra: "it's all good" while ignoring the present challenges presented within the spectrum of human societies are simply seeking a path away from personal responsibility.

History is replete with examples of great accomplishments by people of meagre means. These individuals and groups implemented change through a combination of thought and action in cooperation with others in a process of co-creation.

Those of true courage not only envision a world of higher consciousness and freedom of thought and belief, they stand up for freedom and human rights even when it is challenging and may mean the loss of their own lives.

Perhaps this is why some people call Michael Servitus the first martyr of New Thought.
